Junk means waste, rubbish, old or discarded articles that are considered useless or of little value. The truth is that everything we own at some point will be junk. What we want to do is take junk and give it value by managing the grey area between sustainability and elevated design.
Our brand slogan is ‘PLASTIC REHAB’ because ultimately we are all humans and our downfalls are part of our nature. Instead of shaming each other about them we want to inspire change by owning up to them.
Every single pair of JUNK EYEWEAR is made of recovered plastic waste and it’s enhanced by the use of silver. We ensure value is added back into the product so it can never be discarded as junk again.
JUNK glasses are made of ECONYL®, regenerated nylon made out of waste that’s been rescued from landfills and oceans around the world. The polymer is entirely regenerated from waste materials (100% recycled). It performs exactly the same as brand new nylon and it can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again.
100% made in Italy, to be precise, they are made at Lozzo di Cadore, in the province of Belluno. Belluno, previously well known for Dolomites and mountains, now is gonna be famous for something else. 😎
The black bag is made of 100% recycled R-Nylon with 100% recycled polyester filling. The microfibre cloth is made of 100% recycled polyester.
The box is reusable and made of paper and cardboard, pulp-coloured without plastification.
Currently you can only find JUNK online, but – as the real influencers say – ‘STAY TUNED’.
